Electron Energy Spectrometer for MIR-THz FEL Light Source at Chiang Mai University

The linear accelerator system of the PBP-CMU Electron Linac Laboratory has been designed with aim generating free-electron lasers (FELs) in mid-infrared (MIR) and terahertz (THz) regions. quality radiation is strongly dependent on properties electron beam. Among important beam parameters, energy spread are particularly important. To accurately measure energy, first dipole magnet bunch compressor downstream screen station employed as an spectrometer. A Space Charge Tracking Algorithm (ASTRA) software used for design optimization this system. Simulation results demonstrate that developed spectrometer capable measuring within 5–25 MeV range. constructed to have ability capture a size resolution 0.1 mm per pixel. This achieved screen-to-camera distance 1.2 m, which proves sufficient precise measurement. systematic error measurement found be less than 10%, minimum 0.4% achievable when horizontal remains below 3 mm.
